Is it then worth spending the 60 extra euro for the NVIDIA SHIELD TV? The only spec that makes the NVIDIA SHIELD TV seem better is the AI upscaling, which I am not sure is worth it on 1080p, as I don't have a 4k screen now, but might plan on getting one in ~6 months. From where I live (not the US), the Chromecast Google TV costs 90 euros. The 2 options that seemed best are the Chromecast with Google TV and NVIDIA SHIELD TV (Tube), for which I've read some comparisons, however those comparisons are written with in mind that the Chromecast Google TV is only 50 dollars. So I am looking to upgrade to something that has native support for these media players (at least Plex or Kodi) and something that is able to stream x265 over Moonlight (My PC that I stream from has an NVIDIA card). However, I am not too happy about video quality due to the limit of 30mbps on x264, plus something with native support for Netflix/Plex/Kodi would be a nice addition. My current setup is a gaming PC that streams to a Steam Link which I use to game on a 1080p TV screen over wifi (I cannot get a cable to my TV but wifi is stable enough to reach 30mbps constant). It’s nice to see Sony widen its support ahead of the launch of its own PlayStation Portal streaming handheld, which is coming in November.CloudyGamer is for discussing and exploring cloud gaming in all its forms, both self-hosted and all-in-one services. And with official support coming to the Chromecast, you can have a console-like experience on a big screen. PS Remote Play (as well as Steam Link for PC) give gamers a way to play on more screens. Remote Wi-Fi streaming has become a popular way to play games wherever you are in your home, since you no longer have to fight over who gets to use the TV that your console is hooked up to. I imagine that if this limited launch goes smoothly, we might see the app come to more platforms, like the Apple TV, Amazon’s Fire TV devices, and possibly Roku, too. Sony said in a press release that the launch is broadly targeting all Android TV OS 12 devices, but that the two devices above are the only “verified” products. You can pair a DualSense controller to either via their Bluetooth settings. It’s also coming to one TV, the Sony Bravia XR A95L OLED. People who own the 4K Chromecast (the one that includes a dedicated remote) should be able to download the app soon, via the Google Play Store. The PS Remote Play app was previously locked to iOS and Android phones and tablets, but this update marks the first time that Sony is branching out to TV streaming devices, of which the Chromecast is one of the most popular and affordable. It’s everything that Sony delivered to beta testers a couple of months ago, but Sony snuck in a surprise for the update’s broader release: PS Remote Play support for the latest Chromecast. Sony has debuted a new set of features for the PS5, including Dolby Atmos, the ability to turn off that dreaded “beep” console power sound, support for up to 8 TB of SSD storage, and more.
